We had the first proper frost this autumn yesterday and it encouraged me to take a walk at the Lodge. I have enjoyed frosty photos from there before. The low winter sun creates some atmospheric effect as well as powerful backlit images. Even with the warmth of the autumn colours it still looks cold doesn’t it. The final photo is thanks to Nick the gardener who puts a little food down by his hut and gets regular visits from muntjacs as well as the ever present grey squirrels.
