Autumn colour is going fast as the autumn storms blow in and strip the colourful leaves. There are a few acers at the Lodge and at the Swiss Garden which are autumn favourites. A little sunshine helps. Here are a few photos from the Lodge and Swiss Garden including a delightful 7-spot ladybird. I’ll finish with photos from inside the Shuttleworth collection. The instrument panel from the Active Arrow Mk II has everything that a pilot would need on a lovely bit of wood. This suit of armour will be re-installed after the collection Spitfire completes its annual service. I thought 10,000 miles was a short service interval on my car but a mechanic told me that the annual service on the Spitfire is after 10 flying hours. It does not sound a lot but that would be 3,000 to 4,000 miles so not too bad.
