It was a nice way to spend this Christmas eve morning with a wander around Holyrood Palace. The public area has some cracking rooms and a lot of portraits of Kings and Queens all looking a bit grumpy! Anne and I went down and dodged the frequent heavy showers but you cannot avoid the strong winds. It is the first time I have been in the palace and it is certainly worth the visit. I bestowed an honour on Anne but it is sadly temporary. :-)  We took a leisurely stroll around the house and then the extensive garden by the ruins of the abbey under Arthur’s Seat and the Salisbury Crags, almost dry.
