BRIAN REID PHOTOGRAPHER

A Few Spring Days

Wednesday, 5 April 2023 09:55

We have had some lovely spring weather on a couple of days recently. The muntjac above was at the Lodge and the one below at the Swiss Garden was a little more keen to forage than to watch me. The cherry tree at the Lodge is in full bloom and I used to enjoy it close up when I used to work at a desk under the clock. Not a bad place to work. I spent a couple of minutes trying to figure out where a robin was that I could hear singing close by. There it was, not looking too smart but still a treat. It seemed that it was preening time for the mallards at the Swiss Garden, not just the two in the photo below. The peafowl have got their spring plumage on. Very nice. There are tulips in the grotto at the Swiss Gardens the like of which I have never seen before. I’ll finish with a snap from the car park. The Shuttleworth Collection attracts classic cars but some people parked old Triumphs next to my classic Big Blue Snail. How dare they!
