Carmarthen, my jumping off point to Ireland, has been fine after one of the worst journeys I have ever endured. Delays added the best part of 2 hours to the journey, almost avoiding the cycle tour of Britain in the Cotswolds, road works on the M5 and the M4 closed in both directions at Newport. Just a gentle Saturday jaunt, NOT! My hotel is in the town centre and a short walk found a nice outdoor Italian restaurant with an available table next to another with a decent pub band. Still warm but manageable.
