And so the water recedes. Some paths that were flooded are now partially open and the land is still the domain of the waterfowl and herons. The flooding is clearing slowly which is likely to be a bit of catchment management. There are interventions all along the river to minimise flooding at key locations out into the Fens and as they were already saturated it is clear that the river is being managed.
