We were let out on license on Friday on the condition that we took Nugget for a long walk. As is the case across much of the south of Britain there has been plenty of rain in Somerset. The boating lake in Portishead was lapping over the border and walking Nugget along the edge was a swim waiting to happen! The wind was pretty strong and the birds were largely grounded. The gang of young rooks were concentrated by a chap feeding them through his car window. The views across the Bristol channel allowed a decent view of Newport, Cardiff, Flatholme, which appears to hover above he water, and the two Severn Bridges. After this bracing walk we headed down to the large marina to continue our walk and to enjoy a coffee and cake.
