A weekend at the Seaside

Tuesday, 19 March 2024 18:03

I spent the weekend in Scotland, mainly at Southerness on the Solway Firth, with family. Our digs were my sister and brother-in-law’s “van” close to the sea shore. It is tranquil but with an ever changing seascape. My great nephew Jack and great niece Rosie love it there and the dog Sam seems pretty chuffed too. It was also my first proper “long” distance trip in the Tesla Model 3 and it met and probably exceeded my expectations. It is a very fine piece of machinery and the Tesla Supercharger network worked really well. The weather was typical coastal, showers and sunshine, but it was pretty damp on Saturday when my brother and sister-in-law joined us. It did not stop the enjoyment of an almost empty beach. It is a joy to open curtains in the morning, like above, and not to see a street. Here are a selection of snaps of family fun at Southerness. It was not a surprise to see a skeen of geese flying over as we were within a few miles of RSPB Mersehead nature reserve, popular with migrating geese.
