BRIAN REID PHOTOGRAPHER
A Grey Day in Bristol

You cannot pick your weather just your locations so Tim and Debs came up with a wet weather plan for Wednesday. Bus to Bristol and a wander through the museum and WRA gallery and possibly the cathedral. We almost got away with it with one shower while having a snack and then caught on the edge of a big shower heading for the cathedral as you can see below. Our luck ran out when we got back to Nailsea and flooded roads and more than a minor shower. My shoes will eventually dry out! We still had an enjoyable day. The headline picture is self-captioned by definition it is a stationary world in the photo. I have to admit that I did not see that when I took the photo. Walking up to the University and museums there was a constant flow of uber-eats style delivery folks, some on bikes and some on scooters. The giant sea creature and Bristol Boxkite are in the museum which was open. The WRA gallery was largely closed and, as it happens, so was the cathedral, the latter for a pretty good reason. There was a service in progress in support of the homeless in Bristol. Outside Bristol city council offices there were some annotated arrows which were confusing until I looked at the bottom of the pole and it turned out that the arrows were pointing to twinned cities. A little rain never puts us off!
