I spent the morning on Sunday completing my core travel bookings for a trip to Norway in September, ferries and key hotels booked. I have added an outine map of the trip here. It is mainly driving but will include a short trip on thre Hurtigruten Ferry down the Atlantic coast. Job done I popped down to Old Warden and was treated to the sight of the Shuttleworth Collection’s Spitfire taking to the air. This was an additional treat for the main visitors, the MGC car club, who were holding a rally, celebrating this quite rare British sports car. The Spitfire was wheeled down from Hangar 6, passed the MGCs and through a small appreciative crowd before joining the airfield and despite a blustery wind made a perfect take-off, as you can see above. Here are a few photos from hanger to flight line. The beautiful MGCs were also worth a look. I rarely visit Old Warden and forego a walk in the Swiss Garden and I naturally strolled around. It is never the same two days in a row! It looks more like August than June in the garden at the moment.
