Off to Iberia Day 7 - Bilbao

I am not a city person nowadays but a visit to the Basque country requires a visit to Bilbao to see the Gugenheim Bilbao and the Bizkaia Bridge. So if I am visiting I will try to create an exploration plan which will connect these places with others to give me a sense of the place. First off there is an excellent public transport, buses, trams, trains, funicular and suspended gondola on the Bizkaia. A day travel card covers most options but those that are not covered are cheap. The Bizkaia as a foot passenger is €0.60! There were two surprises, the Ribero Market and the amazing Philippe Starke designed interior creating the Azkuna Zentroa-Alhóndiga Bilbao, a modern multipurpose space inside an old structure. The funicular to Artxanda is worth the ride but not the most amazing view. Just walking around between tram and subway rides (it is a big city) there is street art for interest and even a statue of Jesus who appears to blessing one of the very rare electric vehicles I have seen in the Basque Country. I will not tour guide you through the photos which I hope will give you a sense of place and of my day. It started as the rain stopped and ended as the rain started again. I could not have planned it better.
For orientation there is an outline map is here.
