I certainly get my money’s worth being a member of the Shuttleworth Veteran Aeroplane Society (SVAS).You get free access to the Shuttleworth Collection, the Swiss Garden and discounts for flying displays and the shop and cafe. The collection is very active, comprising historic flying aircraft. There is usually something to see, like this Dragon Rapide out for a little exercise. It could be an Avro Triplane doing engine runs. These were treats this week. The Swiss Garden is also constantly changing with the seasons and this year we have a large family of Canada geese and active peacocks. Throw in moorhens, coots, green veined white butterflies and carp gasping for air and it doesn’t get much better. This all happens at Old Warden Airfield, just 20 minutes from home, and makes an ideal morning visit and ton enjoy a a coffee with friends.
