Just a little local time

I popped over to Anglesey Abbey for a wander and despite leaving home in broken cloud it quickly formed up. My timing was excellent as I got a free car wash on the way home after a dry walk. The herbaceous garden was a picture and there were a few interesting plants, most of which I don’t recognise, and it appears that the horse chestnut leaf miner moths are as voracious as ever. There was some nice flight line action at Old Warden and a welcome Klemm monoplane on one of it’s occasional visits. The gardeners work all year round in the Swiss Garden to ensure interest, whatever the season and they are providing a safe space for the large family of Canada geese, where the goslings are really starting to shed their down, and their characteristic colour patterns are emerging. I have not been close to too many butterflies this year but a lovely small white decided to pose for me.
