Back to Routine

There is always a fair amount of housekeeping to do after a long trip and that will be finalised with a proper grocery shop today. Yesterday I took a run down to Old Warden to see what was new in the collection and in the, ever changing, Swiss Garden. There was plenty of activity as they were moving aircraft around with the Edwardians moving to Hanger 1. It is like three dimensional chess with very skilled staff and volunteers fitting the collection into the available space. It was also an Alvis owner’s club get together. I had forgotten how slick the post war Alvis’s were. A chat with one of the owners confirmed that the club numbers are stable but that the “youngsters” seem to prefer more modern classics so not sure what the future would bring. There had been overnight rain which meant some lovely raindrops in the garden. Here are some snaps from home soil. When they move aircraft they have to take some out onto the airfield temporarily which creates a great opportunity for individual portraits. The final photo covers two of my favourite trees with the very elderly acer starting to get into it’s autumn dress.
