BRIAN REID PHOTOGRAPHER

Welcome Back

It was great to see my friend Paul Langshaw out at his “second home”, the Shuttleworth Collection, at Old Warden. He has had a very tough month but is well on his way back. We met up for a cuppa with other friends after I had a short walk in the Swiss Garden and then we popped into the engineering hanger to see what is happening there. That is Paul in the hanger above. There is always something to see, even from the cafe as the collection Gloster Gladiator was pushed past to the Engineering Hanger. The collection’s Hawker Cygnet had left the hanger after completing it’s servicing and was attempting some engine runs with limited success. They will sort it out, as they always do. In the garden the lovely acer is almost naked but there is still plenty of colour including from one of the resident peacocks. It is also nice to see the little summerhouse back after a refurbishment. On most visits I take the detour through the fernery and for the first time in a while the dome was worth a photo with an interesting sky behind. The final photo may be a little early, sorry, but the holy was beautifully lit
