We had a lovely few family days on the Solway Firth at Southerness. A bitter east wind did not spoil the fun, especially for Sam the border collie. Being on the firth the local geese and shorebirds, including curlew, oystercatcher and little waders that I could accurately identify, were ever present and create exellent sights and sounds. Of course the main fun was with the family. Rosie and Jack were in their element and well supported by their mum Katie and my sister Anne, brother Jim and sister-in-law Lizbeth. Jack edited his picture on the swing adjusting the sky to match something from one of his Playstation games! Who needs wall to wall sunshine to have a great time at the seaside.
