Snowdrop Season at Anglesey Abbey is Here

Tuesday, 18 February 2025 10:28

I look forward to February each year when the snowdrops blossom at Anglesey Abbey. You need to get there early as it is the main event of the year at this National Trust site. There are many varieties of these flowers through the grounds, some are early some are late so the season lasts throughout February. My impression was that there were maybe a few less snowdrops this year but still a great variety and coverage makes a visit great on a crisp winter morning. Of course there are other plants to enjoy like crocus close to bloom and witch hazel. The warm morning light and a little mist make for photos which I look for. A new feature was the “tent city” and coffee cart in the orchard. By the time I had wandered to Lode Mill the crowds were starting to build up and by 10:50, when I left, the queues at the entrance had increased and the car parks were starting to look close to full. Good news for the National Trust and the future of sites like Anglesey Abbey.
