And I am off. I made an executive decision to take the “long” route to Portsmouth for the ferry, via Oxford, and it proved a good choice as it was a very smooth journey getting me to the port via the Havant Supercharger in plenty of time and with a well charged battery ready to begin exploring France in the morning. The ferry is essentially empty which meant they were sealed up by 15 minutes before departure time, although they did wait to depart as planned at 15:00 local time. Here are a few snaps taken during my departure from Portsmouth on a crisp and sunny afternoon. As I write this I am settled into my cabin with a coffee and a muffin. Ah the life on the ocean waves. In fact I have now added a couple of shots from the Hotel at Ouistreham looking onto the port and the almost full moon while sipping a complimentary beer. All good so far.
