Checking Out My Local Patch
Saturday, 12 April 2025 10:55
It has been a very pleasant week catching up around my local patch which was muddy and cold when I left for France and is now bone dry and a bit warmer. There is plenty of sunshine but I seem to have become the cold wind magnet. :-) I have popped around my local regular walking sites, the Lodge, Swiss Garden, St Neots Pocket Park, Paxton Pits and added a visit to Cambridge into the bargain. I’ll start with three photos from Paxton Pits where greenery is bursting out all over almost hiding the green-veined white butterfly below. A very casual muntjac was aware of me but appeared not to be fussed. The birches at the Lodge are coming into leaf and glowing. I managed to catch the last of the daffodils in the Swiss Garden. There is plenty of blossom about, including by the river in St Neots and the hire boats are back by the Rover Mill as the holiday season sets in. I’ll finish with a Jurassic shopping experience in the Grand Arcade in Cambridge. It definitely must be Easter school holidays.
