A short hike on the Wimpole Estate

I took a short hike at Wimpole Hall up to the folly as a bit of a test for the ankle and made it with a little residual discomfort so definitely good and worth the walk. It is not a particularly long walk but over unpaved terrain and up and down hill, overall about 5 km. It is nice to feel more like myself again. At the folly there were a couple of “slow photographers” that is sketch artists and boy were they good. The folly, and every home should have one, sits on a hill north of the house, which itself is very impressive and, on the other side looks south along an impressive avenue. It had been a while since I visited so nice to reacquant myself with this National Trust property. There was a treat along the way with a family of swans by the lake before the cattle decided to come for a drink and encouraged them to swim away. One of the calves took quite an interest in a couple with a dog, which was on a lead. There were also a few lambs who seemed OK with the visitors.
