An Interesting Week on my Patch

Variety is the spice of life. I have to say that the natural world has been dominating with walks at the Lodge, Priory Country Park, St Ives and Old Warden. There are plenty of butterflies and bumblebees around and occasionally they stay still long enough for a quick photo, and sometimes not. :-) It was hot at St Ives and Oliver Cromwell had his eye on me from beyond the grave. At Old Warden you can combine butterflies and waterlilies with aeroplanes, a pleasing combination. An unusual little kit plane, a Pietenpol AirCamper, was a rare visitor and off into the sky with the Cambridge Tiger Moths. While watching them a beautiful Dehavilland Fox Moth came in to land. In the Engineering shop there were some interesting visitors, a Swiss Neiuport a French YAK and a Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation Boomerang.
