I have managed a couple of short walks at the Lodge to enjoy the late summer colours including the return of the heather and the joy of encountering the Dartmoor Ponies. I did have a surprise encounter with a fledgeling song thrush near the entrance to the garden. It semed relaxed and the good news was that it was not there when I left the garden so not abandoned
